The Academy for Super Smart Society (SSS) online teams the Online Content Research and Development Section (OCRD) held a joint welcoming party for new TAs on the evening of July 17. The party was held to welcome new SSS and OCRD TAs and allow TAs to exchange information related to online course production with students and faculty.
Greetings from the participating faculty members, Prof. Jeffrey S. Cross (Director of OCRD Office) and Prof. Akinori Nishihara (SSS General Manager) opened the party, with Prof. Cross welcoming the new TAs, noting that the last welcome party was held four years ago. Prof. Nishihara said that the SSS team, like OCRD, has started to produce online content, and he hoped that cooperation with OCRD would be beneficial for both teams.

In addition to many foods and beverages such as sushi, pizza, and snacks, halal foods for Muslim TAs were also available at the party. Following the toast, a quiz on the history of Tokyo Tech and the university’s integration with Tokyo Medical and Dental University was held, making the party an enjoyable one. Music chosen by the TAs was played in the hall, and the party proceeded in a cheerful atmosphere.
The party ended with a speech by Prof. Yamashita (OCRD) in a friendly atmosphere. SSS Online Education will continue to develop and improve online education at Tokyo Tech in cooperation with OCRD!
